1. What year did you join SDMO?
I joined on September 13, 1972.
2. Why? I was encouraged to join by my parents, Imel and Rachel Willis, who had discovered the group and fallen in love with the wondrous sound.
3. Why did you stay? I stayed with the group for the fellowship and joy of the rich experience. At that time, I played in the first mandolin section. Later the rest of my immediate family also joined, with my husband playing mandola and two young sons playing mandolin. At one time, we enjoyed having ten of our immediate and extended family playing with the orchestra.
