1. What year did you join SDMO?
I joined when I moved here in 1977.
2. Why? My first interview for a teaching position was with Floyd’s father who was with the Singing Strings Orchestra. When he found out I played trumpet as well as bass in the Army band, he said he’d hire me as a teacher if I would come play bass mandolin. I had never heard about mandolin orchestras before, but I guess being Italian, it was in my blood.
3. Why did you stay? It’s always been like an extended family.
