2. Why? Because my husband died in March and he left me with dozens of instruments, including four mandolins. I joined SDMO and learned to play to honor his memory. I was grieving pretty hard and feeling sorry for myself …took an inventory of his instruments, found the mandolins & said to myself, “what am I going to do with all these?” When the mail came that same day with a catalog from the community college district, I told myself I needed to get out of the house maybe take a class, so I closed my eyes, waved my finger & when I opened my eyes my finger had landed on the mandolin orchestra. Never heard of it before. At the next meeting I took my mandolin and went to the class and never looked back. I feel like my husband guided my decision from above.
